Iron Your Shirt The Right Way

Guide - How to iron your shirt.

In our opinion, there are no iron-free shirts, all shirts must be ironed to be highlighted in the absolute best way. Just as a poorly cut lawn can ruin the overall look of an otherwise beautiful garden, a poorly ironed shirt can ruin the entire outfit.

You need this for a successful ironing:

- Ironing board

- Steam iron

- Spray bottle

Advice!

Preferably use distilled water in the steam iron to avoid any lime or salt stains on the shirt.

If you use "ordinary" tap water, you must, like a coffee maker, descale the iron regularly to avoid lime and salt stains on the shirt.

You descale the iron by pouring a few drops of vinegar or vinegar into the water you have in the iron.

Empty the iron by using up all the steam by ironing on something tender, such as a dish towel.

This procedure should be repeated a few times so that you are absolutely sure that you have removed all the lime from the iron.

8 advices on how to iron your shirt:

1. For best results, always iron the shirt slightly damp. The optimal is to iron it before it has really dried after washing, which is not always easy to time and then the spray bottle with water comes in handy to moisten the shirt.

2. Check the washing instructions, most shirts can be ironed on high heat but always check the washing instructions label to be sure.

3. Start by ironing the sleeves and then on the back, start with the cuffs. Then continue with the front of the sleeve and cuff.

4. Continue with the collar, starting with the back. Stroke from the tip of the collar and inwards the middle.

Do the same on the front of the collar, (should there be any creases, it will be less visible than if it is at the back of the neck).

5. Continue with one front piece of the shirt, which you put on, on the ironing board.

Always iron from top to bottom, ie. always finish at the bottom of the shirt as any creases are better hidden as you may still put the shirt down in the pants.

6. Turn the shirt on the ironing board and continue ironing the side and back to get to the next front piece of the shirt again.

7. Finish by stroking the yoke on the shoulders.

8. Hang the shirt on a hanger for 10-15 minutes and let it cool.
